For the past couple of weeks I've been making some more cards for my CraftsAdore shop, in between the colouring projects.

I do love white die cut cards, so there's now a range of monochrome cards in my "Wedding Cards" section, featuring Centura Pearl in Snow White with Gold flecks, backed on black cardstock. Many of my cards feature Tonic Studio Affections Dies, which are simply indispensable when creating wedding cards, but I am also partial to glitter, so there is a few cute cards featuring Stamps by Chloe too.

Scruffy Little Cat Absolutely Adorable Birthday Card

Today I'd like to share my latest birthday card made for one of my daughters.

This one is made using a Scruffy Little Cat "Amy" stamp from Crafters Companion, which I got via Create and Craft TV when it was originally launched, and it is coloured in with Spectrum Noir pens ("Absolutely Adorable" sentiment was on the same stamp). This is only my second attempt at making a card with a Scruffy Little Cat stamp.

It is mounted on an embossed Centura Pearl card (both also available from Crafters Companion) and a Spellbinders die cut frame. The finishing touches included Parchment butterfly (embossed with Stamps by Chloe glitter), embossed Parchment quilled flower (again, from Crafters Companion) and a simple organza ribbon bow.

Little Princess Birthday Card

Last year we started a "family tradition" of making handmade birthday cards for each other. With five children's birthdays throughout the year, we certainly have plenty of opportunities for making them! Today is my little princess's 3rd birthday, but I've been busy knitting her a teddy bear, and I have run out of time to make one (I cheated and made it on Serif's CraftsArtist so she still had one made by me, but that's not "totally" handmade, is it?)

So I have let my 9 yr old daughter lose with my crafting stash, and asked her to make a birthday card for her little sister all by herself, from scratch, completely unsupervised. This is her result:

OK, I may have helped a little bit - the stamp is from Crafter's Companion Angelica range, the flower is from Spellbinders, but the rest is all her doing. I am especially proud of her colouring with Spectrum Noir pens - it just shows you anybody can learn with the right tools!

Thinking of you cards are the hardest to do. I think they must convey the message of wishing all the best, uplift the recipient, but also be generic enough to be wanted to be kept longer on the display (since handmade cards tend to take me quite a while to do, I hope they do get kept rather than recycled, hence I only do them for people who appreciate the time involved :)).

This Sugar Nellie Tiffany digi stamp has been used recently on a card I made for a very special person, going through a tough time, and I hope it has conveyed that we are sending lots of love, hugs and kisses and that we pray that she will be all well.

Recently my second oldest daughter was sitting some exams and asked me for a good luck card. I've made a quick one, using Sugar Nellie Gorjuss Sitting Pretty stamp, although I must admit there was nothing quick about colouring her hair - it was my first attempt at black hair, and I'm sure if I do it again, it will be a bit better...but I am quite pleased with it anyway.

Excitingly, my first card is now on sale in my Etsy shop. Yeepee!

This is a new venture for me, and quite scary, as there is a very steep learning curve, but hopefully all will become less stressful with time.

I love this design by Sylvia Zet from Wee Stamps, and have made a few of those cards, using Spectrum Noir pens. The cards are all different but all featuring this adorable couple.

The inspirational sentiment reads "Always and Forever", stamped and embossed in delicate gold shimmer and placed on a die cut elegant tag, accented with satin white ribbon and pearl embellishments.

The background of the card, made with Centura Pearl Snow White Gold card - superb quality 300gsm Cardstock with stunning "barely there" gold fleck effect pattern finish, features embossed butterflies layered onto silver grey textured card.

The front of the card is beautifully adorned with delicate handmade vellum parchment flowers, coloured with distress inks and touch of glitter, and an elegant layered butterfly, decorated with more pearl embellishments.

The card measures about 6"x6" (15x15cm) and comes in a handmade presentation envelope box, individually crafted to fit the card.

Today I'm quite chuffed to have finished my first commission for an anniversary card. The topper is done using a digi stamp from Wee Stamps - Birds Swing by Sylvia Zet. These birds are absolutely adorable - they just ooze love, don't they? I love all Sylvia Zet's digis, I've collected quite a few of them now.

Flowers (and butterflies) are made from parchment, which was embossed with Embossalicious Cable Knit folder, and die cut using Crafters Companion Die'sire Quilling Flowers and Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms dies. The card size is 8x8 gold centural pearl, die cut with Tonic Affections Heart Base die and embossed with Chantilly Frame, and decorated with Liquid Pearls.

If I were to do this card again, I would add more butterflies, and I'd use less blush for the cheek (CR2 maybe?) - I think they are blushing so much, as if they're up to something...
